Olympic champion Mikaela Shiffrin inspires young girls with wisdom and some ski turns at Copper Mountain

With glitter on her face and a sparkle in her eye, eighth-grader Amalia McNeirney of Salida could barely contain herself Saturday morning at Copper Mountain after meeting America's ski racing GOAT, Mikaela Shiffrin. "I’ve never been more excited in my life," McNeirney said. "It’s just really, really cool that we get to meet someone who is so famous and so generous. It makes my heart go really, really fast. She’s not just all about the fame and the money from winning the Olympics."
