Prince Harry Says Queen Elizabeth Expected Archie and Lilibet to Be ‘More American’
Prince Harry’s relationship with the royal family has generated years of headlines. But one of his sweetest memories of Queen Elizabeth had nothing to do with palace drama or public feuds. Instead, it centered on Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, and a funny observation the late monarch made after finally spending time with them during the Platinum Jubilee in 2022. According to Harry, [...] The post Prince Harry Says Queen Elizabeth Expected Archie and Lilibet to Be ‘More American’ appeared first on Mandatory .

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle 'still looking at options' for security as UK visit looms
Prince Harry is set to travel to Britain next week for a programme of Invictus Games-related activities, though whether the Duchess and their two children will accompany him remains uncertain. The Duke of Sussex, 41, has scheduled his visit for 7 to 11 July, but his security team continues to explore arrangements that would enable seven-year-old Archie and five-year-old Lilibet to make the journey. With only days remaining before the trip, no final decision has been reached regarding the family's participation but a source said they continue to "look at options". Should Meghan travel with her husband, it would represent her first return to British soil since attending Queen Elizabeth II's funeral proceedings four years ago. TRENDING Stories Videos Your Say The couple's state-funded round-the-clock protection was withdrawn when they relinquished their roles as working royals six years ago and relocated to California. Harry has pursued legal action to restore this security, previously indicating he would not feel safe bringing his wife and children to Britain without proper arrangements in place. The Duke of Sussex has maintained that he was assured of annual security reviews through a Risk Management Board, yet no such assessment has occurred since the family's departure. A spokesman for Harry stated: "The issue is whether appropriate and proportionate protective security is being provided throughout the entirety of the visit." The spokesman added that the independent review board "has still not taken place" despite being deemed necessary last November. Beyond the official engagements, unconfirmed family plans may also feature during the visit. Reports suggest Harry could take Archie and Lilibet to Althorp Estate to pay respects at the final resting place of their late grandmother, Princess Diana. The young royals have not set foot in Britain since the late Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022. Harry is also expected to arrange time to meet with his father during the trip. The King and his younger son last saw one another in person during September 2025. Our Standards: The GB News Editorial Charter

Prince Harry set to return to the UK next month amid ministers' £26million pledge
Prince Harry is set to travel from California to the UK next month for a series of promotional events ahead of the 2027 Birmingham Invictus Games. Despite ongoing tensions within the Royal Family, King Charles has expressed his backing for the veteran-focused sporting competition. A friend of the monarch stated: "Like the rest of the Royal Family, His Majesty believes that Invictus is a very worthy cause. “He hopes that the Games will be a big success for Birmingham next year and is aware that a lot of taxpayers' money has been spent on it." TRENDING Stories Videos Your Say The public investment in the Games is substantial, with the Government pledging up to £26million through the Office for Veterans' Affairs. This significant commitment of taxpayer funds underscores the importance placed on the international competition, which brings together wounded, injured and sick military personnel and veterans from around the world. Birmingham will host the Games next year, making it the first time the competition has been held in the UK since its inaugural edition in London in 2014. Security arrangements for the duke's upcoming visit will mirror those from his September trip last year, with police protection limited to Invictus-related engagements. A source explained: "When Harry came last September, he was granted police protection at certain times, such as when he attended the WellChild Awards. That will be the same this time for his Invictus events." The restricted protection follows Harry's unsuccessful legal battle over his security status in Britain. Civil servants on the committee reportedly opposed granting the couple automatic protection, citing political risk and concerns about taxpayer sentiment. Earlier this year, the Royal and VIP Executive Committee began reviewing whether to restore the automatic, taxpayer-funded protection that Harry and Meghan forfeited when they stepped back from royal duties in 2020. A spokesman for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stated: "There is no change in the security situation as far as we are aware. “We wouldn't comment on meetings with the Duke's family." Harry had hoped to bring Meghan and their children on the trip, which would mark the Duchess of Sussex's first return to Britain since Queen Elizabeth's funeral in September 2022. Prince Archie, now seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, have not visited their father's homeland since June 2022, when they attended the late Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
