Fans hoping to see Amy Adams play a major role in Star Wars: Starfighter may want to keep their expectations in check. The actress recently opened up about joining the galaxy far, far away and revealed that her part in the upcoming film is much smaller than some may have expected. Even so, it sounds like the experience was everything she hoped it would be. During a recent appearance on the SmartLess podcast, Adams shared that she has a "very small part" in Star Wars: Starfighter , which also stars Ryan Gosling , Mia Goth , Matt Smith , and Flynn Gray . The film is being directed by Shawn Levy from a script written by Jonathan Tropper . Even though her screen time may be limited, Adams couldn't hide how much she loved stepping onto a Star Wars set for the first time. When asked if she got to interact with all the iconic props, she confirmed that she did. She also revealed that she "went to the creature shop twice" and said it was "so cool," which is exactly the kind of behind-the-scenes experience longtime fans dream about. Adams admitted that her excitement actually made her first day a challenge, explaining, “I mean, I’ll talk about this, I’m sure, down the road, but like – I don’t know what I’m allowed to talk about, but I was so nervous the first day of working, like I forgot how to act. I’m sure Shawn Levy’s like, ‘Amy, are you okay?’ And I’m like, ‘No. I’m just not alright!'” Growing up as a fan of the franchise made the moment even more surreal. Adams went on to explain, “I have to now get out of my dorky fangirl place and go into my professional actress [mode], and combining the two was really hard. It’s so cool, you guys – it’s just so cool.” She also had plenty of praise for Flynn Gray , the young actor at the center of the film, although she didn't reveal any details about his character. Lucasfilm is still keeping the story for Star Wars: Starfighter under wraps, but it has been confirmed that the movie takes place five years after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker . Star Wars: Starfighter is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters on May 28, 2027.

When the six-time Oscar nominee appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers on Wednesday, the host mentioned a story he had heard about her from his fellow Saturday Night Live alum, Andy Samberg . In 2008, just a year after Amy starred in the 2007 kid-friendly Disney film Enchanted, she hosted the legendary sketch show. A t the time, Andy was blowing up online thanks to his musical digital shorts, and he filmed one with Amy called Hero Song . The short starred a dejected Andy, dressed in business attire, staring out the window of his office building, and singing about how the city has too much “crime and evil” and needs a hero. So, he puts on a Batman-esque costume and tries to stop a man from mugging Amy Adams, only to wind up getting beaten up by the mugger. “That was not his first idea for you,” Seth said to Amy while reflecting on Hero Song. “No,” the American Hustle star said, with a nervous laugh. Seth continued: “[Andy] said he brought this song to you, and it was like, the filthiest song. I’ve never heard it. Do you remember it?” “I do... but I’m not... I mean, it was...” Amy conceded, starting to stammer a bit. “It was, I’ll give you the gist without telling you the punchline.” She then explained the setup: A couple is in the park when the husband gets bitten by a spider. As the husband is dying, his wife asks him if he has any last wishes. Amy recalled: “And he’s like, ‘Yes, I never got a chance to...’.
